An partially preserved crinoid crown of this ‘3D’ specimen, sp Gilbertsocrinus Dispansus.

Crinoids were aquatic and fed by filtering small particles of food from the water with their feather-like arms.

Found in the Edwardsville Formation, Crawfordsville, Indiana.

Dating to the Lower Carboniferous, circa 340 million years old.
