Our most popular fossil, an ammonite nodule which captures the ammonite and its negative within a split rock. Ammonites from this UK region contain iron pyrite, or ‘fool’s gold’, giving them a natural glimmer.
Jurassic, circa 180 million years old. From Whitby, Yorkshire, England.

The ammonite will be approximately 5cm - 7cm. The nodule itself may be bigger.
