Lapis lazuli spheres
Vey tactile lapis lazuli that has been shaped into a sphere.
This beautiful, intensely blue mineral has an long history of being used in jewellery and was at one point the most expensive of all blue pigments.
These pieces of lapis are characteristically veined with lines of iron pyrite, or fool’s gold. From Peru.
Standard sphere: Circumference 25cm. width 7.5cm.
Extra large sphere: Circumference 33cm. width 10cm.
