Woolly Mammoth lower jaw and tooth

Regular price £1,700.00

A fantastically preserved almost complete lower jaw section and a single tooth from a Mammathus primigenius , a species of Mammoth that was common throughout Europe in the Pleistocene epoch.

Found in unconsolidated sediment of the North Sea, this tooth and jaw section dates to a time when the area was low-lying grassland connecting the British Isles to the continent. From the Pleistocene, circa 100,000 years old.
