Ophiuroidea brittle stars. These prehistoric echinoderms are preserved on a gritty micaceous siltstone. Limonite, which is heavy in iron, gives the brittle stars their distinctive orange colour.
Found in the Kataoua formation, Morocco.
From the Upper Ordovician, circa 450 million years old.
